About Me

Two decades reading the Earth’s crust, from outcrop to orebody.

I am a professional consulting geologist working in the mineral exploration and mining industry, spanning early-stage exploration, target generation, drill programs, geological interpretation, resource development, technical reporting and project execution. Since entering the industry in 2005, I have worked on gold, base metal, rare earth element (REE), uranium and critical mineral projects across North America, Australia, Asia and Africa.

My technical background covers structural geology, tectonics, field geology, geological modelling, GIS, geochemical interpretation and QA/QC, integrating geological, geophysical and geochemical datasets to support exploration decision-making. My research and fieldwork have taken me through Canada, South Africa, Spain and Mexico.

As a consulting geologist for the United Nations and geological data management lead for the World Meteorological Organization, my operational record includes extraction management at Mponeng, Tshepong and Obuasi, and diamond operations at Cullinan, Williamson, Kimberley, Koffiefontein, Merlin (Australia) and Renard (Canada).

Consulting Services

Seven disciplines of precision geology.

Comprehensive technical services bridging fieldwork, structural drillcore analysis, hydrogeology and compliant resource assurance.

01

Geological Mapping

Systematic study and recording of rocks, minerals, faults, structures and landforms, from field identification and classification to detailed maps and cross-sections.

  • Field identification & classification of rocks
  • Mapping of faults, folds and shear structures
  • Rock & soil sampling and analysis
  • Detailed geological maps and sections

To understand the geological setting of an area and support exploration, construction, mining and environmental projects.

02

Site Investigations

Determining the geological and ground conditions of a proposed site before construction or development, identifying ground-related problems early.

  • Geological & geotechnical field surveys
  • Borehole and trial-pit investigations
  • Soil and rock sampling
  • Groundwater conditions & ground stability assessment

To provide the information needed for safe and cost-effective project design, before capital is committed.

03

Mineral Exploration

The systematic search for economically valuable deposits, gold, copper, lithium, iron, REE, uranium, from target generation to drill interpretation.

  • Geological & structural mapping
  • Geochemical and geophysical surveys
  • Rock, soil & stream-sediment sampling
  • Target generation, drilling & interpretation

To locate, define and evaluate mineral resources and determine whether further exploration or development is justified.

04

Environmental Geology

Applying geological knowledge to environmental protection, pollution management and the assessment of geological hazards.

  • Soil & groundwater contamination investigation
  • Erosion, landslide & geohazard assessment
  • Environmental impact assessments
  • Waste-disposal, landfill & remediation input

To understand how geological conditions interact with human activity, reducing environmental risk.

05

Hydrogeology

Where groundwater occurs, how it moves, and how it can be safely developed and managed, from aquifer assessment to mine dewatering.

  • Groundwater exploration & aquifer assessment
  • Borehole siting, evaluation & monitoring
  • Pumping and aquifer tests
  • Recharge & sustainability evaluation

To support reliable water supply, groundwater management, dewatering and protection of groundwater resources.

06

Geological Modelling

Three-dimensional representation of geological conditions built from field observation, drilling data, geophysics and laboratory results.

  • 3D modelling of rock units & structures
  • Mineral deposit and orebody modelling
  • Borehole & sampling data interpretation
  • Geological sections and resource models

To visualize the subsurface, sharpen interpretation, and support exploration, mine planning and resource evaluation.

07

Technical Reports

Professional geological findings, interpretations, calculations and recommendations in clear, documented, defensible form.

  • Geological & site investigation reports
  • Mineral exploration & resource reports
  • Hydrogeological & environmental assessments
  • Maps, figures, lab results & recommendations

To provide reliable technical information for planning, regulation, investment decisions and engineering design.

Project Portfolio

Eight theatres of global operation.

Gold basins, diamond kimberlites, critical-mineral pegmatites and groundwater regimes. Select a dossier for the full case assessment.

The Manifesto

Three convictions, carved in stone.

01

CHAPTER 01

Empirical Ground Truth

No algorithmic simulation replaces the tactile examination of oriented drillcore, fault breccia and petrographic thin-sections. Models are hypotheses; the rocks are the verdict.

02

CHAPTER 02

Tectonic Permanence

Deposits do not occur by accident. They are thermodynamic anomalies created along suture zones, crustal fractures and metamorphic fronts over millions of years.

03

CHAPTER 03

Fiduciary Precision

Capital allocation in mineral assets demands ruthless truth. A qualified signature on technical documentation protects billions in sovereign and institutional treasury.
